THIRTY FIVE YEARS, NO SHORTCUTS.
WORK FEATURED IN
Vogue · Harper's Bazaar · GQ · People · WWD · The New York Times
Thirty-five years ago, Lori Sapio picked up a camera and never put it down. Since then she's built a career that spans celebrity portraiture, corporate work, fashion editorial, fine art and events — working with some of the biggest brands and publications in the country along the way.
Her work has appeared in Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, GQ, People, WWD, and The New York Times. Her clients include American Express, LinkedIn, McDonald's, Equinox, and Lancôme — organizations that understand the difference between a photograph that fills a space and an image that defines one.
I've spent 35 years learning how to make someone feel something in the first second they see a photograph. That's not a technique. It's a discipline. And it's what I bring to every assignment — whether I'm photographing a Fortune 500 CEO, a celebrity at a gala, or a nonprofit making its case to the world.
Lori's work exists at the intersection of fashion, portraiture, and editorial storytelling. Her background spans the worlds of celebrity photography, commercial campaigns, and fine art portraiture — which means she brings a cinematic sensibility to assignments that most photographers approach as documentation. She doesn't record what's in front of her. She creates images that couldn't exist without her presence in the room.
She has photographed the people who shape culture — business leaders at the peak of their influence, artists at the height of their careers, athletes, activists, entertainers, and the executives building the brands that define entire industries. She has worked on the stages of major national conferences and in the quiet of intimate portrait sessions. She has covered red carpets and boardrooms, galas and galleries, nonprofit fundraisers and global brand campaigns.
She works efficiently and decisively. High-stakes assignments — conference keynote portraits, celebrity event coverage, brand campaign shoots — require a photographer who doesn't need time to warm up. Lori arrives ready. The session begins immediately. The work is done at a level that reflects the value of the people and organizations she photographs.
Lori operates from her River North studio in Chicago and is available for assignments throughout the greater Chicago area, DuPage County, Dallas, Baltimore, North Carolina, and destination work nationally and internationally. For conference and corporate clients, she travels fully equipped and self-sufficient — no local gear rental required, no setup learning curve, no risk.
She has photographed assignments in cities across the country and overseas, and she brings the same precision to a conference in Dallas that she brings to a portrait session in her own studio. The work doesn't change with the address.
